JEE Main 1982 Mathematics question on Sequences and Series

The third term of a geometric progression is 4. The product of the first five terms is
  1. A.
    434^3
  2. B.
    454^5
  3. C.
    444^4
  4. D.
    None of these
Show answer and solution

Correct option: B

Solution

In a GP, if the first term is a and common ratio is r, the five terms are a/r², a/r, a, ar, ar². Their product is a⁵, which equals the third term (a) raised to the 5th power. Since the third term is 4, the product = 4⁵.
