JEE Main 2002 Chemistry question on Atomic Structure

How many moles of electron weighs 1 kg?
  1. A.
    6.023×10236.023 \times 10^{23}
  2. B.
    19.108×1031\dfrac{1}{9.108} \times 10^{31}
  3. C.
    6.0239.108×1054\dfrac{6.023}{9.108} \times 10^{54}
  4. D.
    19.108×6.023×108\dfrac{1}{9.108 \times 6.023} \times 10^{8}
Show answer and solution

Correct option: D

Solution

Mass of one electron = 9.108 × 10⁻³¹ kg.

Number of electrons in 1 kg = 1 / (9.108 × 10⁻³¹) = (1/9.108) × 10³¹ electrons.

Moles of electrons = number of electrons / Avogadro's number = [(1/9.108) × 10³¹] / (6.023 × 10²³) = 1/(9.108 × 6.023) × 10⁸ mol.
